ZAKYNTHOS TRIP GUIDE

One of the most famous and beautiful Greek islands is Zakynthos, sometimes called Zante. Along with the dwindling population of Caretta Caretta sea turtles, this area is famous for the world-famous Navagio (Shipwreck) beach. The one-of-a-kind island in the Ionian Sea is inhabited by some really picturesque towns, beaches, and scenery.

For your convenience, we have prepared a travel guide that includes all the information you will need to prepare for your vacation. Read on for a comprehensive guide to the island's attractions, beaches, and activities, as well as a gallery of jaw-dropping photos!

From the Peloponnese harbor of Killini, you may take a boat to Zakynthos, or you can fly in from Athens or any of the other numerous European airports.

Additional Information about Zakynthos, Greece

Zakynthos is one of the Greek islands that stands out for its uniqueness and fascinating history. Its setting in the heart of the enchanting Ionian Sea allows it to capitalise on its natural beauty and magical beaches.

As you journey throughout the island and discover its sceneries, you will come across picturesque hilltop towns, ancient monasteries, and picturesque natural settings.

On top of that, the beaches are home to the Caretta-Caretta marine turtles, a species that is in risk of extinction. Every year, this beach goes through a nesting season, during which the turtles lay their eggs in the powdery white sand.

The beautiful Navagio (Shipwreck) coastline is the island's most recognizable feature, earning it the Italian moniker Zante. Seeing it in person is still the best experience, no matter how many photos and mementos you have of it. A lovely place with white sand and blue water, Navagio beach can only be reached by boat.

Despite the breathtaking vista from above, a swim in the crystal-clear water is an absolute need.

Although Shipwreck Beach receives the most visitors, the region is home to many other beautiful beaches as well, such as Laganas, Gerakas, Vasilikos, and Spiantza. The Caretta-caretta sea turtle, a species in risk of extinction, visits specific beaches in the spring and summer to lay its eggs. You should give them space if you see them coming out of the water to lay their eggs on the sand, but if you do, consider yourself lucky.

Stop by Zakynthos Town, the island's lively center, for a change of scenery after you've explored the verdant bays of the island.

The Venetians had a profound impact on the island's capital town and bestowed the moniker "Fiore di Levante" (flower of the east) to it. Nearby landmarks include the Post-Byzantine Museum, Solomos Square, Saint Mark's Square, and the Venetian Castle.

You'll always have plenty of things to do. Aquatic sports, sightseeing, scuba diving, and going out and having fun are just a few of the many things you may do on vacation.

During your next holiday, go on an adventure you will never forget. On our blue marble, the closest place to heaven is Zakynthos, a little Greek island in the Ionian Sea, located south of Kefalonia.
